This is the second year in a row i have been to the delfin azul.
Great holiday every one very nice.
Best of the bunch is pep the head waiter. Hes is one in a million.
Reception staff always helpful and up for a chat.
Food was a bit more basic than when me and the family visited in 2005. but still very nice.
Would recomend this hotel to anyone visiting alcudia as it is right smack bang in the middle close enough to walk to the bars and shops ect but far enough away not to hear them in the early hours..
Outstanding Hotel

Just returned for the 2nd year on the trot to this outstanding hotel, I feel it has improved more than last year, air conditioning now installed, food at the pool side has improved considerably, as we didn't rate that last year - 100% improvement. The staff were again friendly and helpful, alot of the same staff, so that shows that it must be a nice place to work. We travelled as a large group with a mixture of grandparents, parents and children, all of different ages from 3 to 68 and we all had a great holiday. Thanks again Delfin Azul for a great holiday, hope to visit next year.

Just back on May 25th from a great week, so sorry to leave!!! The staff were excellent throughout as was the variety of entertainment. Rooms are now airconditioned which is a real plus. The food is good and the complex is spotless. The beach across a busy road is beautiful, a really good all round 3star choice especially for kids.
Good Family Choice - Bad Location
from Leeanne77
We stayed at the delfin azul between 1st and 8th may 2006, the hotel is very clean the food choices were good and varied and all of the staff are very helpful and most speak english. The only down side to the hotel is the location next to a busy main road and the area around the hotel is mostly residential, however the beach and shops/ restaurants are around 5-10 minutes walk. The hotel has an excellent entertainment programme including mini-disco, bingo a quiz and bands etc... The chiildren's play area is quite small and located away from the main seating / pool area, there is a large trampoline which for two euros kids can have around ten minutes use. The bus stops outside of the hotel and whilst there we visited Palma for around £6 return, travelling time around one hour and Puerto Pollensa just half an hour up the coast approx £1.50 return, beautiful peaceful beaches, lovely cafes/restaurants and good views, both are worth a visit as is Alcudia old town which is very peaceful apart from on a Sunday when the town square is taken over by the market.
Cheers Bar is also worth a visit with lots of organised entertainment for kids.
Great Hotel for families

We have just stayed at this hotel for the 3rd time in 4 years and it seems to just get better.
The rooms, public areas and grounds are well looked after and are always clean and tidy. The food in the restaurant is first class and the service excellent and very friendly. It is a buffet service and you are taken to a table as soon as you walk in so there is no searching for tables.
The bar area and club is also very good although the drinks prices expensive. The entertainment most nights is enjoyable and worth staying in the hotel for and there is a kid's disco every night. In fact children are well catered for at this hotel and it is consequently ideal for families with small children.
The bedrooms however are not air conditioned and this can make for very warm nights in high season though fans are now provided in each room.
The hotel location itself is just a short walk from the great Alcudia beach but you do need to cross a busy main road that is just alongside the hotel. There are crossings though and this does make crossing much easier.
All in all a great hotel and good friendly service.
What a great holiday!

My family and I stayed at the Delfin Azul hotel in Alcudia from 11th july to 25th july 2005. I would, without a doubt, thoroughly recommend this hotel. The food was outstanding, the service was very thorough, we had maid service every day, and the staff at the hotel were wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, my 2 sons aged 14 and 17, myself and my husband aged 35, and my mother in law aged 56. Which goes to show that the hotel caters for all ages. We would all definitely consider choosing the Delfin Azul as our next holiday hotel.WELL DONE!!!!

We went to the Delphin Azul for this years holiday & it was the worst ever.
If you want any sleep at all avoid this place, between the camp beds in the rooms that are really uncomfy & the main road(which doubles as a speedway circuit at night), the noise from the road is unbearable. To add to this if you ask to change hotels Thompson will charge you a fortune because they do not accept responsibility for noise, so you have to pay for another hotel.
We found food at this hotel to be contaminated with some sort of detergent & the level of hygien in the resteraunt was poor to say the least.
The entrance doors at the front of the hotel are very heavy & not child friendly.
The lifts were constantly full or not working( 6 flights of stairs).
The bar prices are riddiculous( its cheaper in scotland)
The hotels only good feature was the staff & reps where very good.
Finally if you do go I wouldnt bother writing to Thompson as all they do is send you quite an inept attempt at fobbing you off.
