After spending 2 nights in beautiful Badwell Ash, it was very different getting to seaside Scarborough. Our hotel was high up on a cliff overlooking the sea. When we got there, I knocked and knocked and knocked but nobody answered. Eventually I went down to the basement to speak to a lady through her window. Today we drove to Scarborough. This is a seaside town that my family go to quite regularly. We went here 8 years ago and had both Eryn and Rachel get tonsillitis and vomiting, so we needed new memories.

We had restaurant meals made from local produce; I had a tomato and feta (called fettles so as it is made locally and not from Greece?) and seared scallops and pork belly. Stopping at the local pub at the end of the road on the way home we enjoyed a 'liqueur coffee', Cheryl had dessert and we patted the local dogs who had come to the watering hole.
