... before retiring at a Motel 6. Normally, we don't stay at Motel 6's but this one looked good and after we checked in were pleasantly surprised as it was a wonderful motel. The room was big, clean and obviously recently redecorated with hardwood floors, two platform beds and stylishly outfitted with "retro" furnishings. All we could say was "wow" when we walked in.
We continued our travels east through a piece of Pennsylvania and into New York.

... to this local brewery in Munster, (the place I was staying; about 40 minutes outside of Chicago) and tasted some excellent ale which reminded me of home. The bar was awesome as well with ceiling shelves of empty bottles and good music. ... or divorces or just enjoying a night on the town. JD ordered me a Long Island Iced Tea, which was our beverage of choice when we used to visit Jimmy’s Bar in Peoria back in college. When the cocktail arrived it was in a three-foot tall glass and probably contained enough alcohol to sink a ship (or at least make you feel like you were on a sinking ship). We drank about half of it between the two of us and left the rest for the bachelorettes.

... you catch up with the sledge in front of you and the dogs can get entangled. You have to hold on to that handlebar very tightly because the dogs just want to go go go go!,and you will be left behind.The sledge has a place for a passenger ,al covered with a blanket,it is very cold! Lots of fun as we went about 4 miles up the hill and 4 miles down.Back at the base camp we had some cookies and hot cider coming in something like a teabag ,very pleasant.
