    ... to speak and we don't want any errors today. We are checking our changes on the train when a young Parisian man kindly asks we if need some assistance. Yes we do and we tell him that his suggestion would be welcome. He suggests we take the M12 to Concorde, then the M1 to Gare de Lyon. We're going to do just that. Our journey is hectic in the Paris rush hour but I would imagine not as bad as the equivalent journey in London. Imagine trying to squeeze yourself into a sardine ...

    ... to do would have been to go up the chairlift onto the mountains but it was too misty to see anything today so it would have been a waste of money. Instead, it was recommended that we go to the Mer de Glace (glacier) where we can go inside and walk around a grotto that has been cut out.     Gosh what a day, I think we may have overextended ourselves if the meltdown on main street this evening is anything to go by!!! We took europe's longest gondola ride up to Mannlichen at 2300 metres high. It's on a ridge that straddles the Grindlewald and Lauterbrunnen valleys so you get panoramic views of all the mountain range - it's phenomenal.
