    A visit to Cagliari

A travel blog entry by jane.bezzina on Jun 16, 2015

A half day sight seeing tour of this lovely city. The Sardinian name for the city is "Casteddu" literally meaning castle. The tour takes us past man made wet land within his home to hundreds of np iris including pink flamingoes. Then off to Mount Urpin to enjoy the view over Cagliari's old town. From here we walked around the old district which is surrounded by bastions starting at the St Christina Gate. ...

Decided to go on a trip down the coast to a little place called Villisemus.

We wanted the coast road down but GPS did not, it took us on a newish motorway which wasn't blocked off at the turn off but we soon found out after traveling some distance down that we screamed the brakes on to avoid slamming into a container parked on the road with work men about! After crossing the crazy 6 lane road on a pedestrian crossing that no car stops for!! We made it back to the car and 'dodgem' drove back to our lovely apartment so peaceful and slept.

... I'm going to do some experimenting when we get home.

We went down for dinner at 8:00. I had the mussels, which were delicious, and Eldon had the prosciutto and melon balls, which were tasty too. Eldon then had the stuffed ravioli, delicious, and I had the risotto with seafood. Of course we only ate half of everything again. I then had a DELICIOUS beef fillet. ...

... for this as half board we ordered everything we could order. We sure couldn't begin to eat all of it. Eldon started with an appetizer plate of cheese and salami, and I had the smoked tuna and swordfish with a citrine dressing. Mine was delicious; Eldon's was the same as we had for happy hour.

Eldon then ordered the spaghetti with red mullet roe, and I had the spaghetti pomadoro. Both of them were delicious, but we ...
