Waking up, after a frustrating night of sleep, to see that Notre Dame beat Michigan 31-0, made it a great start to a fabulous day! We enjoyed our "substantial Tyrollean breakfast" of yogurt, fruit, breads, pastries, Nutella, meats and cheeses before heading out to mass. The church here in Casterotto is massive. It is like to the church we went to in Kruth, France in style but much much bigger and more crowded. We walked through the very unusual cemetery prior to mass: ...

... she starts speaking English!! The 50 minute ride to Castelrotto (or Kastleruth in German) made everything better for me-- gorgeous, green Alp views with Swiss chalets dotted around everywhere. We climbed higher and higher as my seatmate and I talked about world travels. She couldn't believe that, I, an American, had not been to the Grand Canyon! She told me that I should not tell people that! We had a lovely time chatting; the song "I wanna go home, I wanna go ...

We took breakfast in the throne room - as you do. We are getting a bit sick of cheese and ham but still eating it. We were sad to leave our royal palace. We had gotten used to the regal atmosphere. This was a treat stay for us. We booked a taxi and went for one last stoll before travelling. We enjoyed our garden and of course took more castle photos before getting into the taxi to travel to Trento to catch ...

... blackberries, grapes and plums. After about 8 km we ended at the lake and had a lovely swim. The water was cool and it was very different to the dams back home. Clear water instead of murky, pebbles instead of mud, sunbathers on grass, deck chairs and towels instead of sandy beach, there was one little caravan for food and the town really did not meet the touristy bit. We decided to go up to Levico for some ice cream. It was here that we really noticed that the architecture has ...

After washing everything late the night before due to getting in late. We packed our nearly dry washing into our bags. We didn't have much food for breakfast as Rae and Shane had not shopped before they left and no shops were open. We found a piece of cheese and had some crackers. Church was the first item of the day then the Taylor's kindly drove us to Brenner in the Brenner Pass where Hotler and Mussolini did thir deal for Tirol. We ...
