... a campsite in Portoroso. But on heading there, the sat nav in the car decided to die and left us flailing for directions on a Slovenian motorway. Even the internet wouldn't work for directions on the charged tablet. Um, paper map... Anyone?!! ... wine shop told us the population was 500. Had a lovely lunch next to a garden full of musical sculptures and Rami had his second taste of Truffles which are the local specialty.

... close to Italy (only half an hour by ferry to Trieste) there were also some great italian eateries as well.

Although there is only the one big hotel in Piran there are quite a few little smaller guest houses . The beach area in front of our hotel is meant to be for guests only but we saw some very interesting people try and push their way in nonetheless. Perhaps the most annoying or entertaining, I'm not sure which was a rather old and larger ...
