... easy. First we had to get our luggage traced and delivered to the carousel. This is after standing in line patiently. Then the first train to Basel was about an hour late. Not only that but it switched tracks on us, but good thing we met a South African who had family in the French part of Basel and spoke German and he told us of the track switch on the loud speaker. ... me out of my seat. Apparently the seats were reserved which was confusing because my ticket said nothing about a seat number whereas hers did, along with everyone else that I could see. She turned out to be really nice and watched my bags while I went to ask the conductor.

  • I learned that the little displays above the seats tell you if they are reserved or not. I just had to find one that wasn't. Luckily the one I had moved to wasn't reserved so I just sat there.
