Kaiserallee 2 Baden-Baden, Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, 76530, 7221-9330
It's our 13th wedding anniversary today and we have escaped parenthood and other distractions by leaving Nathan with Omi in Stuttgart and staying in this amazing hotel for a night. Already spent two hours at Caracela Thermal Spa and then a half hour massage (noice). Found a great restaurant called Leo's for dinner and quickly decided to stay a few hours longer tomorrow.

Featured Excursion: Strasbourg canal cruise
Optional Tour: Haute Königsburg
"See Strasbourg the way it has been seen through the centuries—on a canal cruise. In addition to viewing the town's covered bridges, medieval watchtowers and modern building that houses the European Parliament, you will see "Petite France," a picturesque district that seems as if it has been lifted from the pages of a fairy tale"

This place was incredible! There was just too much that I loved to talk about, but one thing that was really cool was a hotel that they have called "The Little Prince"...after the book and movie The Little Prince. My parents and I LOVED this book when I was little and we used to read it and watch the movie quite a bit. It's a pretty strange story but really neat. One the side of ...
Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany katerilalaineLast leg of the European jaunt and we've decided to try out the Black Forest...the bad weather was the final nail in the coffin and after 3 days of dripping foggy weather, we decided to jack in the caravan and head to Octoberfest, but more of that later.
So a quick trip to a 500 yr old stud farm started by King Wilhelm the 1st, where they breed beautiful Black Forest horses and Arabs then, Baden Baden to take in the sights of this thermal spa town and ...
All right, so we did the naked frolicking in the baths, went cuckoo over cuckoo clocks, drove all over the not so black, Black Forest and visited an open air cultural museum near Gutach, which was weird because it was suppose to be a museum about how life was back in yesteryear for Germans. And it was for the most part.
As I walked through a typical period ...
... t go there. We went to the Friedrichsbad, the Roman-Irish bath. These baths were built about 120 years ago, 1889 if my math is right. That means it's old, it's ornate and it rocks. These baths are different from your typical ones because the entire experience is derived from going through 18 different stages of healing, the highlight is swimming in the grand pool located under a divine dome that looks as though it was built for royalty. Actually it was ...
Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany laters... and got lost trying to find others. Our feet were tired and our minds were overflowing with information. The Zevisit audiotours were interesting and informative, but we all agreed two in one day was too many. We decided to take a tram back to the centre and browsed in a few shops on our way back to the car. Then we spotted an ice cream cafe and decided it would be nice to sit and relax with a deliciously decadent ice cream dessert.
Strasbourg, Alsace, France travelingdiva... little room. Reminded us of a room that belonged in a German Grandmothers' house. The hotel was great and had wonderful accomodations. The inn keeper spoke a lot of English and lent us a hiking map the next morning. All in all the accomodations were exactly what we were looking for!

Baden-Baden, Germany srk17... girl, and we rented bikes and rode to some ruins outside of town. It was on this day that I decided it's too friggin' hot in the south, I now go north.
Next I went to Metz to see my old friend Sandra Le Petit and her family (who I stayed with for the summer when I was 14). Fun fun fun. We basically just hung out a bunch, and on Sunday night we went to go see Alanis Morissette in concert in Luxembourg (where Sandra now lives). She pit n a ...
