Again it seems to be an escape from the inevitable. But somehow I actually think it's way more than that.

Why do I think that? I'm sure you are wondering what special thing happened at the end of my last entry in the first world trip ...

It was sooooo cold in Frankfurt, we didn't want to spend much time here since we had no winter clothing. WE got in late, went to our hotel, then back to the airport to get our flight to Bangkok moved up. We though it would be at 8 that night, but they managed to get us on the next flight out, which was pretty much within the hour. Woohooo! I also kept speaking Italian in Germany... so confused with all the languages.

... at my back. As I turned the corner away from the stares and took a deep breath, I suddenly recalled where my wallet was hiding. I sheepishly got back into the same line and the cashier felt sorry for me and once again was kind. He even offered for me to join their shopping club - I politely declined. Once in that store was enough, thank you very much.

Finding Terminal B Gate 62 was also not exactly easy - but I did finally ...

... the hookers seemed to still be waiting for the American GI’s. It was raining and dreary, but soon to change when Erik’s cousin, Nadine, and boyfriend, Flo, picked us up to take us to their home town outside the big city near the Tanus Mountains. We had a wonderful visit, them taking us to a traditional German restaurant where we tasted fresh apple wine. We topped it off with a visit to their apartment. What a great way to end the trip!

... summer festival. There were 40k people there, alomst half of Darwin in one place. It was amazing to see the bi planes etc doing their stunts with a neverending stream of large aircraft above themin the sky (this place is near Frankfurt a very busy airport).

Got home at 6.30pm, got into my very classy pink striped pjs and went straight to bed. First proper sleep for more than 30 hours. Next day Vera took us ...
