    Coffee and cake time, too knackered to eat the cake. Mark has undergone brain melt today - in the last half hour he has lost (and found) his camera, my passport, his passport, his sunglasses. He seems truly fated to lose that camera. It takes gorgeous photos, at the cost of not holding charge for even a day, and making its own decisions over when the flash should be used.     ... how hard it is to not understand what is going on. Most of the locals in the town only know very basic English, so some tasks have been difficult to complete. Luckily, there are always people around to help and our German for Beginners course is helping us learn the basic words to help us get by. I lucked out in particular because one of my roommates speaks German and definitely has come in handy.

    ... captured and imprisoned here in 1192. It is the start of the Wachau Valley - a very rich wine growing area that extends for a number of kilometres along the Danube ending at Melk.

    So got off the boat and went for a wander through the town for an hour or so. Then it was back on the boat, in order to be in time for continues to be hard.

    ... city, had lunch and a walk around and finally back to boat....spent the time with lovely lady from Canberra - jan. Rain has flooded cities again but seems to have eased this afternoon! We had dinner at the exclusive Erlebnis restaurant which holds 22 people and you are only allowed to book twice on the cruise. It was first class service...a five course dinner which was excellent!
