... back to the ship to enjoy an evening with a theme, "The taste of Austria". We experienced typical Austrian food complimented with schnapps, wine and or beer. The crew all dressed in traditional Austrian costumes. We were given a tour of the galley where the chefs prepare the meals. Most interesting.
Following dinner, I decided to relax on deck to enjoy the ambience of the evening. The ship cast off at 11:45 and headed to Vienna.
    Another great but busy day.

Sadly I woke up that morning not feeling too great with a very sore throat and a head cold but I got up, bought some lozenges and headed to the tour office ! Waiting for the tour to start I started chatting with a lady named Laura who currently lives in the UK with her family and was on a mini self vacation. We were the only ones on the tour who were solo travellers therefore ...

... pub crawl at the end. One of the best days of my life and will definitely never be forgotten.

I guess that will have to do for a recap for now. I will try and post as often as possible - assuming my life remains interesting. I am looking forward to more of what Krems has to offer and all of the trips I already have planned for the next few months. The first 3 weeks have already been amazing and I know it will only get better from here!

... Danube the flooding is pretty dramatic and Passau especially was really hard hit. It was very interesting to be there to see the damage.

So speaking of grumpy people, we (especially Dad) have developed a few acronyms during this trip which have been helpful and at times necessary. Dad insists that he is anti-social and gives advice about how to avoid conversation with others. No eye contact, sit with back towards room, etc. Of course Dad is actually ...

... of the Northern Hemisphere. Regular appears large, large appears bloody enormous and you have to pedal when it looks like you're going downhill. Perhaps it was these confusing things then and not the beers that caused Little Gary to end up in the nettle Patch to the amusement if Big Pete. A couple of such Nettle Patch falls enabled me to get in to my rightful place at the front of the pale ton for ...
