On somewhat of a whim we have decided to venture into Milan for the day. None of us have ever been here before, so its a new experience for all.

The day started beautifully with a large number of people Para-sailing and sailing about on Lake Como this morning. Very nice thing to wake up to. After breakfast we left this lovely place and, with our GPS friend made our way into Milano.

We know that there is no parking in the city centre, we also know ...

Milan is so fashionable. I think that this might also be Spring Show week. There are private driver cars and people who look like money everywhere. I wouldn't even go into some of the cafes by the Duomo because I just stuck out like a sore thumb. I am staying in a hostel. Fortunately, I was able to reserve a lower bunk in a room with three others. ...

Shop till you drop, before The Last Supper

... minute tickets) to see the Last Supper. Strictly limited entry, max of 15 mins each group (20 at a time), so pleased I can as I'm not likely to be back this way and as it's taken the last 20 years for this round of restoration I haven't really had the chance before. No photos of any sort of course and the times were strictly adhered to, you were drip fed through various rooms (doors locked both ways before the forward door was opened etc) before you could get ...
