    ... Pearl Harbour and returned to service within 28 days. On a lighter note, the soda fountain room and the ice cream room must make any visitor from the Royal Navy cringe a little. It was nevertheless a good visit, well worth the admission. One of the things we liked, although safety was a concern, it wasn't over the top. Our trusty driving companion was guiding us successfully although there were some minor errors in her navigation of our wrong direction correction.     So, we have a quick stop at the legendary "North Carolina" battle ship of Workd War II, which is in quite good condition.

    ... White Oak River and Intracoastal waterway. Initially we visited Swansboro and Emerald Isle. Swansboro is a small town (population around 2000) which is situated on the mainland and has a bridge connecting it to Bogue Inlet and the beach area called Emerald Isle which is on a barrier island.
