... though.) We didn't have to wait in line for the tickets to Maid of the Mist, which was included. That was a bonus. We stopped to wander around the beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. And to top the day off, we went to a winery for some free wine tasting.
All in all, it was a good day.
... fresh out of Humber College who would factor largely in my later life as a colleague and engineer/ producer in his own right. Claude was the drummer, and the day I arrived for the audition, Marshall stack and souped-up Telecaster in hand, we had that rare connection that musicians sometimes form; part competitive, part instinctive, and 100% respect. Over the years since, I like to think we've helped each other get much better at what we do. So on this particular day (the 18th of ...

Toronto, Ontario, Canada cipo... I sat right down beside a nice looking older fellow and a Spanish dude. This turned out to be the general manager of Now Magazine and a delivery guy I guess he was taking care of, helping him learn English and that sort of thing. So instinctively, I go into schmooze mode. "Here, take my card, if you ever want an editor, I know In Design, blahblahblah"... I don't know if I would even TAKE a job at Now, but I couldn't let the opportunity slide, you know? There was also ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada starlagurlDay One. Toronto/Chicago/Tokyo/Bangkok Toronto: 5:00 am. Our good friend Grahame drives us to Pearson airport where we catch the first of three flights and begin approx. 24 hours of straight travel. The first airline attendant that we meet at the counter is not very nice. I agree with Kim's assessment that the woman is a b****. She tells us that we could be deported because our travel agent has given us the wrong info re: visas for Canadians in Thailand. After a phone ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada jasonandkim... tomorrow (3.5 hours, maybe more, to watch!), I'm sure it'll all come flooding back... My Dad asked me yesterday, what score I'd give the whole experience, on a scale of 1 to 10. Without having to think about it, I instantly said, "20". I could have just as easily said "a hundred". It's been fantastic, every step of the way. I planned the trip with three goals in mind: (1) volunteer and work with children in Peru, (2) do some serious trekking and even ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada hsbAfter a trip like that, I was eager to get home and take it easy. Things were pretty quiet which left me lots of time to handle the travel bookings. Family illness had kept my Mom & I from making a full commitment on our SE Asian trip previously, but in the end we finally decided it had to be done. My return home included some golf, Bluejays, helping a buddy move ...
Oakville, Ontario, Canada rwk... in Ecuador she managed to get the big ideas across - where is the bathroom? May I have some water? It was strange and wonderful to show my mother what I had been experiencing for the past three months and it was also fun to converse in a language that my mom does not understand. We saw the coast, the amazon, the mountains in a whirlwind tour filled with really special moments that ...
Oakville, Ontario, Canada northwood... to go in humber bay park but it is a nice area. You can discover a small river, nice houses in a quiet place, animal (savage ducks?).
Then, arriving at Humber bay park with its white bridge, nice beaches, cool path close to Ontaria Lake. This is a perfect place to do your footing, enjoy time with friends (for example it is possible to play the beach-volley), walk with family, children... anecdote : I saw funny "scuptures" made with stone probably by people walking there.
