... like we would make it to the hotel by 6:00. However, 94 west was horrible. We hit multiple stretches of serious traffic - with no observable cause. I have no idea what the problem was. We would literally get through one patch, get back up to 70 mph, and then all of a sudden everyone was breaking again. It ended up adding an entire hour onto our drive. Then when we finally got to the Motel 6 we're staying at, ...

... The tour boats were crazy. They definitely strove to provide an element of thrill for their passengers. They did a high-speed donut in the river in front of us. It made for some nice waves to make the kids feel like they were at the ocean for a spell.

    realise. But there ...

... where we saw our first fall colors. Personally I think I'd like this better than Devil's Lake for a summer outing. Checked out Little Norway, so disappointed its closed, it is in a gorgeous valley. We were also disappointed in the lack of trolls along trollway in Mt Horeb, though those that are there are very cute. We had pizza at the Grumpy Troll. Nice staff, good food, recommended. Long day ...

... Jeans with long undies just didn't cut it!

I did get a kick out of plugging the car in everywhere we went. Even the parking meters downtown have outlets. I kept thinking I'd screw up and drive off with the cord still plugged in but we were pretty good at remembering it. I noticed the car turning over very roughly if we were on the mountain for several hours without starting it.

    Even though these conditions ...
