Do: Research excursions beforehand. I found that my Belize tour was cheaper and better than the one offered through the cruise line. Just make sure they give you plenty of time to get back so the ship won't leave you!

Don't: Buy the Premium Drink Package on RCCL. Your bar bill may be high, but at $45 per person for 7 days, it's difficult to make this all-can-drink package worth the cost.
