Sat downstairs watching the morning light arrive. Still dark at 7 am but it was finally light at 8. not sure I would be able to cope with that. but next week when daylight saving finishes, it will change for the people living here. No rush this morning for breakfast. Made a few sandwiches and packed the little cooler for a day out.

... Information centre at Shipshewana where there were a number of quilts on display. They also has some quilt block patterns painted on the building. Next door at the Yoder hardware and department store, more blocks were painted on the building. In the car park, next to where the cars were parked, there was a section with hitching rails where about 6 horses and buggies were tied up.

... at the car park, it started as a neatly mown path which petered out to a very poorly defined path. No wonder others had had difficulty.
Headed out from the park on highway 80 heading towards South Bend. At Ottawa (Illinois) we spent some time trying to find lunch. Walmart had not bread rolls and in the end we bought salads from Kroger which we ate beside the Illinois River.

... any signs we wondered if that was where Corningware was made. That night we stayed at a delightful resort called Kinisee Lake in Jefferson Ohio. Our back window overlooked the lake and we had most of the resort to ourselves despite it being the Columbus Day holiday weekend.

... We too can't take the winters. We headed down the road toward our next destination, Niagara Falls via Palmyra, NY. We got as far as South Bend, IN., home of Notre Dame University. We found a Walmart that would let us boondock in their parking lot with all the big rigs. We made some dinner and then carefully climbed in bed (no the bed is not fixed yet).
