The trip home went as planned and nothing very unexpected happened. Under occasional sprinkles I dropped the car , which is much easier in the new terminal; they now have an rental office outside the terminal. The old procedure was a bit strange. All the car rental desks were in the secured arrival zone. So to drop off a car, one had to go in the outdoor (posted "no entry") pass the Forex bureaus and find a staff member who would ...

From Roswell we drive to Carlsbad Caverns. The caverns are on the Unesco world heritage list, so we decide to pay them a visit. Halfway through her hot dog and watermelon, she fell asleep in her high chair. She took a quick nap while everyone ...

This morning we took the " Dart " a light rail from Downtown Carrollton to the city. Unfortunately Simon had a 20 minute drive from Coppell to the station. The Carrollton line appears to go through poorer neighbourhoods. What did amaze me was the number of cars in carparks and lining the streets on the way in. It is truly a car city. The rail system for us was ...

Enjoyed a drive through Dallas to show the city to the kids! This is part of the cross-country tour: "Look kids, Big Ben, Parliament"-style viewing but instead of going in circles (referencing National Lampoon's European Vacation), we are driving through the city--President Kennedy was shot here, here's the Book Depository, there's the grassy knoll (with a classy banner stating its own fame: GRASSY KNOLL) and a small "x" on the street where the President was shot. ...
