From Roswell we drive to Carlsbad Caverns. The caverns are on the Unesco world heritage list, so we decide to pay them a visit. Located 250 meters under ground are loads of stalagmites, stalactites, draperies, soda straws and popcorn. Soda straws being the tiny ones hanging from the ceiling . In Europe we call them Spaghetti. Popcorn are located on the ground. The cavern is beautiful, but we saw an even more beautiful cavern in Slovenia last year, so were a little spoilt. ...

This morning we took the " Dart " a light rail from Downtown Carrollton to the city. Unfortunately Simon had a 20 minute drive from Coppell to the station. Enjoyed a drive through Dallas to show the city to the kids! This is part of the cross-country tour: "Look kids, Big Ben, Parliament"-style viewing but instead of going in circles (referencing National Lampoon's European Vacation), we are driving through the city--President Kennedy was shot here, here's the Book Depository, there's the grassy knoll (with a classy banner stating its own fame: GRASSY KNOLL) and a small "x" on the street where the President was shot. ...
