Stopping for the night in Columbia Missouri after taking a picture of Beetle Bailey. I remember reading Beetle Bailey in the funny pages every day. We had a great day taking the back roads instead of I-70. Saw tons of barns and great houses along the ...

It was a long day but fun with lots of laughter and songs! I wish I had videoed Phoebe singing "Little Girls" she does a mean Ms. Hannagian. I rode my bike to the site but didn't stay long because as Lewis noted in his journal "the mosquitoes were most troublesome". I was still very glad to get some pedal time on this section of the Katy.
It was late when I returned to Rocheport and drove a few more miles to spend the night near Boonville MO.

This was the only leg of trip that I had made no reservations or plans. We are kind of ready to get home and nothing between Colorado & home was on our 'must see' list after 3 weeks of amazing places.

We said good bye to the glorious Rocky Mountains.
