Chattanooga - what a great name for a place. The sole purpose of visiting this city was to have a look at the train that featured as the Chattanooga Choo Choo? Now for those who don't know, the song was made famous by one of the great bands of all time, the Glen Miller orchestra. The song was also sung by the Andrews sisters. The train is now based permanently at the Chattanoogan, a hotel that has turned the terminal into a hotel and has used carriages ...

        September 1st – day 120

Super hot night with high humidity and
no air conditioning meant little sleep. While it; fine to “camp”
for free at Walmart, having your generator on all night is not. So
everyone was a little grumpy to start the day.

However we had a trip to Rock City
Chattanooga planned. This was opened in 1932 and uses natural rock
        formations plus add ones ...

we have managed to fit in seeing so many people.

We spent the night in a sugar coma, Ben
crashed at 6pm and slept through the night and we all felt very full
and worn out. Next time I might have to get something savoury!

        Caverns, trains, and more trains

What a difference a day makes! Wet and windy this morning, with storms forecast, so we set off for Sweetwater and the Lost Sea.

Once again we were walking in caverns, and once again it seemed like we had to do it very fast. It was very dark and hard to see where we were going in such a hurry, and there wasn't really that much to see; it's really all about the huge lake and the boat trip around it. The Craighead Caverns were used by the ...
