We stayed local again this weekend and went over to the Notre Dame campus to see the travelling exhibit Crèches from around the World. The crèches were set up in about five different buildings, but we only saw the ones in the Main Building and the Hesburgh Library. The Main Building ...

While there weren't really any "wow" features of the museum, the kids kept busy the entire time we were there. Even Isaac (14) found exhibits to interact with for almost the entire time. ... around St Joseph township and taking the smaller roads home. Bought some Halloween pumpkins for Madge's front steps from Sid's Pumpkin patch. We also stopped at Niles to see an old station which has been used in a number of films including Only the Lonely, Continental Divide and Midnight Run.
Went to dinner at Madge's favourite Chinese restaurant, Mandarin House, where we had a lovely meal of beef Chow Mien, Moo Chu Pork and Szchezwan Chicken with peanuts.
Slept in which was so lovely. Sun is getting up later and the foggy morning also helped. Nice to have a home breakfast courtesy of Madge's kitchen.
It was still quite foggy when we headed for the local farmer's market in South Bend. It is open 3 times a week and they sell fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, baked goods and then some craft items. I was intrigued by the number of varieties of apples on sale. So many that I had not heard ...
... at the car park, it started as a neatly mown path which petered out to a very poorly defined path. No wonder others had had difficulty.
Headed out from the park on highway 80 heading towards South Bend. At Ottawa (Illinois) we spent some time trying to find lunch. Walmart had not bread rolls and in the end we bought salads from Kroger which we ate beside the Illinois River.
