All week the weather forecast called for 50 degrees and heavy rain/thunderstorms during the race. Thankfully, I was prepared. We stayed at the Marriott in downtown Louisville, which made things super easy. Race start time was at 7:30 AM and I woke up at 6:45, threw on my race clothes, and walked out the door.

The race itself was nice, albeit crowded for the half marathoners. My favorite part was actually running through Churchill Downs. The ...

After all that culture, we had to try some Southern Food. I live in Texas but have not spent a significant amount of time in the American South, which explains why today I tried my first Fried Green Tomato. It was tart! We drove to Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. It is right next to the University of Louisville and of course Ron had to wear his MSU shirt, just to rub it in.
Not knowing much about horse racing, this was really a very interesting place to visit. Some of the exhibits were very creative and the track was beautiful. On race day, they get 160,000 spectators. It is just a massive ...

... a short 15 min wait, Art texted that we could come on in. We found a table on the covered outdoor deck and got our grub on. Fried chicken, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese (Liam's favorite). Art got medium spicy chicken, but it seemed to be a little bit more than medium, because he kept drinking the lemonade to wash it down.

After lunch, we headed to the Country Music Hall of Fame, but by this time Marina had fallen asleep. I took control of ...
