Next stop was to take a short ferry ride across to Helsingborg, Sweden. I wanted to have a short visit into Sweden as well as the cross border town Malmo which is almost a Copenhagen suburb. I'd visited Malmo in 2003 with Copenhagen so wanted to see a bit more of the country outside ...

    Travelling Home

... I loved seeing the historical buildings and the landmarks. Copenhagen was such a big highlight for me. I always knew Anne and Ida would be friends for life, but this trip definitely confirmed it. They opened their homes, families, boyfriends, wallets and hearts for me, and I can't express my huge gratitude to them. I sincerely hope that they come visit me soon so that I can repay some of their generosity.

Now, where to go to next?

... for the tender boats. As it was Sunday not a lot was open but it made it much easier for our tour less crowds etc. Waiting on the dock were about half a dozen young girls all dressed in Swedish costumes handling out long stem rises to all the ladies which was absolutely gorgeous. I gave mine to Melody our little Philippino girl who looked after us most evenings. When we returned to our cabin last night Johnny had made us a towel ...

    My First Day in Copenhagen

... so far. That card paid for the canal tour or I would have paid over 70 kroner.

The free walking tour was lots of fun, the tour guide was very informative and knew what she was talking about. Some of the highlights of the tour were looking around the Town Hall Square, one of the centres of activity for Copenhageners, including the Lur Blowers, looking at Tivoli Gardens (from the outside) and the start of Strøget, the walking street, walking down the small cobble-stoned streets ...
