... was fresh out which gave me energy despite my lack of sleep. My flight was at 2am in Chiang Mai and I couldn't sleep on the 5 hour plane ride. Then it was around 8am (local time) when I got off in Soeul.
A day of power walking almost killed me but I was determined to get the most of the hours I had. By the time I found the bus I needed, I was crawling and my legs and feet were swollen. Ouch!
Then, short and sweet, I was off again!
... were nice enough to ask local store owners and they told us to go to city hall. We headed in that direction, but not being able to contain our excitement, we pretty much just went in the first place we saw with BBQ and accepted credit cards (we were all pretty much out of cash). It was an awesome place and although it wasn't exactly cheap (in fact it's not cheaper than Australia at all and sometimes more expensive), it was extremely tasty ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. teamrocket8hi everyone! sorry for the lull in posts. so yesterday's "stars & stripes", the "The Independent News Source for the U.S. Military Community" as they dub their little newspaper, featured a front page article on juicy girls (here's the link if you are as fascinated as i am by this: http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?sect ion=104&article=64633 ). it was exactly the kind of "insider" info ...
Osan, Gyeonggi, Korea Rep. ironswan... until midday tomorrow, Asiana have provided a room in Hotel Sevilla with dinner and breakfast and transfers included. Let's hope the 2nd leg of the journey from Seoul to Frankfurt tomorrow is just as good an experience. Staying in Inchon near the airport and not to do around the hotel. Walked around the 4 or 5 streets that criss cross to make up the town area in about 30 minutes and then early-ish night to make sure I don't miss my airport pick up tomorrow!
Seoul, Korea Rep. richlum... because we were all falling asleep and had no idea what was going on. Min Hee was hungry, so we walked to McDonalds and talked while she ate. Then, my H-S father came to pick us up. We were supposed to take the subway, but because it was so late, my H-S parents wanted to pick us up.
When we got home, my sister and mother got in a fight, and it was really awkward. Before we went to the movie, my mother suggested that we go for a walk, rather than a movie, but my sister really ...
... before. Most were alive and people were all ready to chop, slice and dice the marine morsels into bite sized bits.
It was still considerably miserable out so I decided to cal lit a day. I was exhausted and frustrated with the weather. There was no joy in Mudville. I headed back to the airport where I took advantage of the free showers and wished I had a set of clean clothes to change into. It wasn’t really how I envisioned my day in Seoul would turn out.
... traditional dancers (my favorite).
Daniel, a good friend who is also here, just called us today and we're going to hook up with him as soon as we return from Je-ju-do. It's nice to have someone to go around with who we both know from out of the states.
The family asked me if I would like to drink again tonight, but I politely told them ...
... definitely a lot of restaurants that don't have anything for vegetarians. The situation is sad though. They tend to beat the animals before they kill them- the thought behind it is that they will become angry and increase blood flow to the muscles, making for tastier meat. How sad! And they eat dog meat here and my friend has seen them beating the dogs at a market. :( Makes me glad to be a vegetarian! One interesting cultural tidbit is that in ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. truddick... Korean soup! My throat was aching by that point and I was so tired because I had been out the night before (went to the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra). I was ready to go home. I must say, however, that I slept quite well once I actually got in bed. I still don't have a bank account. I am still waiting on my alien registration card to be mailed to me. The immigration has my passport until that card is ready. So, I can't get a bank account or a cell ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. april.abateToday is the first day of my travel blog. I have actually been studying Chinese Business Law in Hong Kong for a semester now. I arrived here back in the end of August. I'll catch you up on what has happened in Hong Kong from the day I arrived here until now. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures from the first couple of months, which I will explain later. Chapter 1: Strapped for Cash: Prelude: I was awarded a full tuition scholarship to my LLM Program in Hong ...
