After a 7 AM breakfast, we boarded the bus for an hour and a half trip to Munich. The third largest city in Germany, Munich is home to the famous Oktoberfest. Although we were not there to experience those actual days, the city was still very much alive and bustling on this Saturday morning. We started out by visiting the town's center where we walked through some shops and waited for the town hall clock tower to strike ...

Later that night we went to Lowenbrau Beerhall to take part in the festivities going on. It was a very comfortable ride on our way to Hamburg, where we would get off to switch trains.

... Tomorrow is grand final day though so I need to sleep.

Jack and I get up at the crack of dawn to get to the pub, we get there early but the line is about fifty metres long, there's no way we're going to get inside this pub, we bump into a fellow Hawks supporter on our way back to the taxi, he looks at the line and jumps in the taxi with us to split the cost back home, none of us expected it to be so packed. Ganzer shows us how to get the AFL pass on our ...

... to earlier in the week for dinner.

We had another beer and the girls arrived about half an hour later. We had a lovely dinner with one funny incident occurring while there. A middle aged German lady was obviously in the habit of putting a little salt in her hand and throwing it over her shoulder for luck before eating (like as in the sayings). On this occasion she obviously misjudged the amount of salt she used as it appeared about half the salt container was in her hand when ...
