Front row on the bus, finally!

... the oldest beer gardens in Munich. Henry has the Pork Knuckles and I have the weiner snietzel. Both excellent choices with a liter of dark beer. We finish everything on our plate, and mug. Rather than ride back to the hotel, we decide to walk back to the hotel and that was a nice leisurely walk for about a 1/2 hour with time to take pictures along the way and enjoy the evening walk. I had a dunkle schokolade, henry had the tiramisu as we walk off ...

Munich - day 18

Weather: Rain and fog Up at 6.00am for a 6.45am bag drop before breakfast. Luckily we had re-packed last night because we didn't have to do much this morning, just get up and go. I don't know the history behind it but I'm guessing it's name comes from the GIANT dome at the center of the church. From the outside, the church is one of the most ornate and unique designs I've ever seen. Marble slabs and statutes adorn the outside of it. The dome has a bright shingles on it ...

Day 27 Vienna to Munich

On the road to Munich we stopped at Mauthausen concentration camp (in Austria) which housed mainly political prisoners and was rated in the worst category for crimes commited against humanity during World War II. Having seen Dachau Concentration Camp in Germany and Terezin in the Czech Republic, this was still shocking - in fact more so. An estimated ...
