The tourism industry came to dominate the local economy. The city celebrated its 400th anniversary in 1965 and undertook in cooperation with the State of Florida a program to restore parts of the colonial city. Jack and I had a good run to Jacksonville from Bozeman. Made it all the way to Lawrenceburg, TN the first day. We were celebrating until after 1:00 AM! I was completely happy. Nothing in the world could make me happier that night. I slept like a baby after all of the dancing and emotion! I am so thankful to everyone who made my buon voyage special. I just wish I could take all of "my people" with me to Italy- I will miss everyone dreadfully! Although I can't fully express that evening and everything that it meant to me, I think one word sums it up pretty well... BLESSED.
