He was puzzled, I told him you could see money even with the eyes. He now realized that I was sour on him. He said we should grab quickly together and travel further. ... I waited, but I finally decided to go with one of the guys calling out for people for different destinations. After going with them and some other locals and paying 60 or 80 bolivares (higher than usual because of the holidays), we waited another 30 minutes at least in the bus while it filled up and then left the station. Leaving the station was a feat in itself, since the buses were honestly filled up in the terminal parking space haphazardly like ...

... we got straight out of that dump and managed to land ourselves in another dump called Maracay, just not as populated. It was quite late so we jumped into a taxi and checked into the first hotel we could find called Hotel Bolivar aka "Casa de la Cocharoche." It was an absolute dive, Renton and the rest of trainspotting crew wouldnīt even stay in this place. Awful awful awful.

... book list) was like a Mexican jail, a very grotty room in a very grotty neighbourhood. Had they been asking 5/6 usd we might have taken it and moved on very quickly, but even that room was 20 usd. So, we have decided to take the bus to Merida a place where lots of backpackers go to do extreme sports, mountain biking, hiking etc, and if the lp book is to be believed the hotel accommodation should be more reasonable. We'll see.
