A travel blog entry by determined34 on Jun 26, 2014

After the bumpy flight from Sydney to ChangZhou, we landed to 35 degrees, humidity level, don't laugh - I have taken off my leggings and wearing my flats without sockets - fashion plus!!! Not so luxurious surroundings here - Qantas does not have a code share lounge. We are sitting in Yeasun Coffee House. With very expensive coffee and dodgy ...

We experienced Luoyang campus life today. We walked through a modified version of the students schedule. The students are up very early every morning ready for their 6:30am exercises. We also got to see how silk duvets and silk brocade fabrics are made. Yeah, this time I bought. Then it was off to the Han-sen temple - one of the oldest temples in S.China. From the top of the tall pagoda, you get a great view of the city. From there we took a cruise along the grand canal to see the old houses along the canal. Szuhou ...

    The vivacious, persuasive Jessica

... from the heat outside into the cool interior which was an interesting museum of Buddhism. What was particularly interesting was that there were about 5 caves - very similar to those we'd seen in Cappodocia, Turkey. These weren't built on the same scale as those - but very similar in design etc. We then took the lift, (called Tool Belt in their translation!) to the 5th floor which took us out to the level of the Buddha's bronze toes. On a clear ...
