    ... t quite work out as well as I thought. We sat in row 69 which was the first row with only 2 seats at the window. It was great as we could throw all our luggage to the side of my seat and get to it fairly easily and didn't have to bother people getting up our of our seats.

    The flight was very uneventful, with the BOSE headphones going on to shut out the plane noise and the inflight movies to keep us entertained. ...

    If we had taken the money we spent on this year's trip and bought a used motor home, no one would have wondered what it cost or would have thought anything about it.

    The biggest observation so far is the number of homeless people around, which is quite upsetting as a lot appear to be seriously mentally ill, drunk or on drugs - and clearly need some support from a social service type agency. Hopefully they will get the support they need in the future. LA has been great so far, very glad we have came- there are characters on every corner and the people and the city are very nice.

    ... and a cruise down Rodeo Drive. I can only think of Eddie Murphy as we drove around the streets of Beverly Hills, even spotting the police station (insert his laugh here) and down to Santa Monica Pier. Tick, Tick, Tick.

    ... and gardens were all very well kept. Even power lines were “hidden” in Beverly Hills. They do have them but they chose to run them behind the houses in the trees rather than spoil the view out the front. I thought maybe they would have underground cables but they didn’t.

    Of course we passed the house where Marilyn Munro stayed when she came to visit John F Kennedy often when he was President. We passed the shop that Julia Roberts ...
