Today was a 12 hour bus tour of Siena, San Gimignano (locally shortened San Gi) and Pisa by a company called Walkabout Tours. Today we left Rome behind and jumped on the train to Florence. Which took us through the hills of Tuscany then into the city. After finding the Bed and Breakfast we unpacked and headed out onto the streets. We saw a park with a large Fountain and pond as we were walking into the city, along with a market place that took up about three streets next to where we had lunch. ... our hotel – just a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio near the Boboli gardens. The rest of us walk through the heart of Florence to meet them taking in the Duomo and Piazza Della Signora and crossing the Ponte Vecchio. ... a rainy day so we were really glad the only thing on our itinerary was morning massages at the hotel's spa before our late afternoon train back to Rome where we would fly back home the next day. That hotel spoiled us because the place "close" to the airport we stayed at Wednesday night seemed like a step-down from a hostel!! Good thing we were only there for few hours!
