This morning we arrived by train to Goa at about 7am. There was an hour drive to our hotel and then we freshened up and went to look around by about 9ish. Unfortunately due to schedule changes since I booked my flights, I can only stay in Goa for 6 hours! It sucks a bit because everyone says it's such a great place to visit and it also means I've spent longer travelling to it than I've spent actually there. ...

... ever seen in their town), and eating in numerous places that had never served a westerner at their tables. Truck drivers would hoot or send an arm flying out of their window upon seeing me on my bike coming past, trailers full of school kids being towed by a tractor would scream and wave emphatically at me, farmers would offer a modest smile and head wobble and locals at street side stalls and cafes would sit and stare smiling unstoppably at me. - For good meat go to the Laughing Buddah on the beach

    - If you want to hire a scooter do it before Christmas because towards the new year the prices go up

    - We stayed at Piya guesthouse for 600 Rupees a night (incl. new years eve). The guest house is ok and the restaurant on the other side of the road is a good place to meet fellow travelers.

    Day 73: Saturday March 31st

The first thing on my morning agenda was a change of accommodation. I had no problem with where I was staying admittedly it was basic but comfortable enough and good value. The day before however I had been offered a very nice beach hut for just 50 rupees more. To me it was a no brainer, so I packed up and moved down onto ...

... train was after the weekend. We began to think we could never leave after going to every travel agent and getting the same response. We then took a closer look at a map and saw that the town Kochin was VERY close to Allepy. Where there buses to Kochin, we therefore enquired? Yes, of course...every day they replied…hmmm. We have found this a lot in India. Very specific questions are required!!

We then headed off to do a bit of house-boating in the Kerala ...
