    ... teaching in Jia Li in the house of a humble and magnanimous couple. After getting his phD in Chemistry, the father of this household, who wishes to remain unnamed, opened his house to children from disadvantage homes to come study at his house free of charge. Most of them were still attending elementary school. As we were there on the students' summer vacation, our purpose was to lead an English teaching summer camp.

    ... we were awake anyways at 3:30 am to get ready for the sunrise tour at 4 am despite the promised wake up call did not happen. The sunrise was OK. It is reputed to be one of the must see sights in Alishan. Glad that we took the bus ride rather than hike up to a viewpoint in the dark.
    We are going to take the bus to Sun Moon lake this afternoon to a 4 star hotel. Hopefully, hot water will be running.

    ... bus trip. I am now in the Centre of the,island. Unfortunately the sky was very cloudy today and it even rained. But it is pleasant to be here. There are many little children but I see only little boys.

    The driver from the B&B actually suggested that we should have lunch first and we followed his recommendation and had lunch at the local 7 Eleven. It was actually pretty good.

    ... s market sort of place where Lucy and I each got some preserved turnips which smelt good. The town (or big village) we went to was called PuLi. We toured a liquor factory and later a paper making factory (which had some DIY activity Lucy was interested but it took too long so we did not do it). We had lunch at a nice family operated restaurant in PuLi. It was a vegetarian restaurant, with Italian style food, with some Indian flavor. Quite good. The place was nice and clean so lunch ...
