After all that culture, we went into the compound for a night of feasting and cultural education, NOT.

It was chaos. Nobody was in charge. We were left to do our own thing. We go our own drinks (water) from an esky. We just lined up with all the others and we have our food thrown at you on a plate. No idea what it was but it was worth tipping anyone. Had ...

... were able to sleep a lot on the plane which helped the time pass! We arrived in Dubai just before 5am and thought we would have a long wait to check in to our hotel. However when we arrived they couldn't have been more accommodating. We spoke to a lovely gentleman at reception who said that he should be able to get us a room early if we gave him half an hour to arrange it :D Low and behold after that time had passed he had not only got us a room, he had upgraded us as ...

... the 13 hour flight. Our experience with Emirates was nowhere near as good as Qantas, which I was very surprised about. Everyone has told me that Emirates are the best, but we found on our two flights with them on this trip, that not to be the case.....maybe only in business/first class... We landed back in Melbourne where ...
