... a line of trees down the centre of this strip. I also noticed that there weren't many tufts of grass in this park but there was a small play area for kids consisting of the old tyre for a swing trick!! How many trees and blades of grass does an area need before it can be classed as a park? As Roisin pointed out, the central reservation on the highway has probably more of a claim to be classed as a park than the ‘park’!!

... is determined to take us to the beach so instead of heading back towards Dubai, he is heading further up the coast. He passes an old mosque and fort and slows briefly but then continues on. We ask where we are heading and he keeps saying something about the beach. Le temps de rentrer à la maison, mais pas sans visiter les magnifiques dunes de sable rouge de la zone Wahiba ... en fait, leur couleur est appelé «rouge fraise» ... très différente des dunes de Namibie. Ici, il semblerait que seule la couche supérieure est rouge, sous le sable doré ... magnifique avec ses effets ondulés. Lance veut conduire plus profondément dans le désert ... mais finalement il ne le fera pas. J'ai tellement peur de rester ...

Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. Awoke this morning surrounded by oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman on the Arabian sea. I was initially racked with shame that I could be feeling hungry after a dinner of twice baked goats cheese soufflé and fresh lobster tail that was finished off with a fine French sauterne.
