... we are in flight...SPLAT! Sooooooo....here it comes, we are going to have to stop in Iowa to refuel....THIS WAS A DIRECT flight!!..,.The line to the agents went crazy and the rescheduling began....Many, many people were connecting in Newark for Europe and India,...they were not going to make their flight.

... I walked 5 blocks back to the hotel.

I suggested to Marie that Neptune's at the very end of the pier would be a good place for dinner and we should go about 7 so we could watch the sunset over the bay as we ate our dinner. We walked 5 blocks to Neptune's and got a table in the second row back from the windows but still with a good view of the bay. ... the time difference. They did well to make it out at all. Our one drink was tasty. We lasted less than an hour. I wish them well on their subsequent mad ones, of which I am sure will be abundant.


Sunday was a great way to end my time in San Fran. I hiked my way up to Twin Peaks and the view was one of the most brilliant I've seen on this trip. If it weren't for all the the tourists, I probably would have lost it completely. Thinking about ...

Alcatraz - what a scary place to be locked away - and probably worse if you were a guard. We took the boat across the bay - chilly but smooth crossing - to Alcatraz. Busy with tourists we decided to take the little train up to the cell block. Good idea - the hill is steep. We then took the audio tour and it was really good with voices from ex guards and prisoners who told the story of life behind bars. ...

... bus to North Beach and picked Calzone because the restaurant reminded us of the movie, Godfather. We shared a Calzone and mama's Lemon Torta; food was delicious and the service was attentive and quick

This restaurant was a recommendation from our hotel, the front desk guy said this is the best Chinese restaurant in San Fran. We came here on our last night and there was a short wait. We ordered a few dishes and the food was very very good
