... Of course I stopped here
and took a few shots.
Onwards up this pass there are old lookout points and castles with cannons
set at them etc. These must have been in place to protect the border from Italy

We told the conductor, he told us to get off at the next station and catch another train back to Villach to get on our bus. We woke up to a beautiful morning in Velden Am Worthersee. The morning view from our room was spectacular. We headed down for brekky to find ...

First we went the twisty way to the Kobarid Museum where we had a local guide to explain what happened on the Soca Front in WW1 from 1915 until 1917 when the Italian and Austrian armies were fighting in the local ...

Another Great Campsite

... br> facilities. A large site but not so “ordered” as Corones somehow.

Seems a lot warmer here, so no need for heating during
the night.

Electrity included in the price but slightly annoying
that more than 5 euros get added to the 18 euro camping card price, for visitor
tax (around 3 euros) and environmental tax. Welcome to Austria!
