What did we just do?

... stayed at was literally underneath a railroad track. We weren't really bothered though because we were completely exhausted. After and insanely long second day, we stopped our second night in Nauvoo, Illinois, my old stomping ground. We spent the whole next day sight seeing. I dragged Jeff to all the sights I used to give tours in, some of which I hadn't been in since I had given tours. It wasn't weird, as I thought it might be. I have such a strong connection with ...

Dexter, who is so funny, upon first seeing me says "Bloody hell mate, he's more gorgeous than you let on. Get your self a thesaurus will ya". Best compliment in ages. Dexter is straight but totally cool. I will blog seperately about London. Unexpected early trip to Washington, DC. Flew from London to ...

... much double the contents of my backpack quite accidentally.....It would have been rude not to buy those blue suede boots, and I needed a choice of outfits for the Broadway show Gem and I took in on our last night....... Gem and I spent our last travelling days sightseeing and shopping. One evening we went to a Comedy Club, which was funny in places and just plain weird in others. On 4th July we watched the amazing fireworks at FDR ...

There were a lot of friends that didn't make it, but we had a pretty good showing.

I'm now back in DC for a few days, before heading to Vegas for a wedding. From there, I'll drive with friends to meet the Smiths is Aspen. ... bar, as there's only so much fun that you can have visiting a university! Yesterday (Saturday) was another touristy day in Manhattan, this time in the downtown bit. We started on the Staten Island ferry to see the Statue of Liberty, and worked our way up through the WOrld Trade Center site (which is just big hole in the ground and really isn't that interesting), Chinatown (which has no restaurants, only fake bag, watch, and scarf shops), Soho ...

A Night with Professor Arturo

(Nieuwmarkt, October 14, 2006)-We had to get back to Manhattan by Sunday at noon to catch the train to Baltimore, so we drove down Saturday evening from East Nassau to Arturo's apartment in Stamford, CT and spend the night there in unaccustomed splendor. The Professor had to flee New Orleans after the Flood and somehow landed in Stamford, where he has a couple of musical collaborators of long standing. Using his finely honed hustling and survival ...

Escape from work factory

... Danbury, it is our day off after the intense introductory week to the company. It's now minus fifteen degrees outside, the tall leaves trees line the roads and for as far as you can see trees mirror each other. Amongst the trees are small rivines, the waters is ice frozen like icicles hanging from Santas' Grotto. The ducks walk foot by foot over the frozen lake. Passed a place called Wilton - historical society. American wooden coloured houses, churches in grey stone.
