Set off to get to our next destination and close another circle. John O'Groats to Land's End.
First went to The Lizard, the most southerly point in mainland England and less well known. Old life boat station from the 1800s and spectacular cliffs.
Then to Land's End, the most westerly point on the UK mainland, to close another circle. ...
... driving through a woodland tunnel.
We started our tour in the grand hall where we found a team of locals preparing an enormous wreath for Christmas that is hung each year and stretches the full length of the castle hall. The wreath becomes a floral rope as wide as your waist, studded with dried flowers in a background of New Zealand pittosporum! It forms a colourful backdrop for concerts and carols in the lead up to Christmas every year.

We are now at a campsite in Poole for a couple of nights before the grand depart on Saturday morning......feeling chilled with a glass of wine and wondering what the next few months have in store for us.

The almost indifferent attention to the hotel aspect. Wow, is all I can say, we got away lightly.

Once we finally got there it looked like you had to park at the top of the road and walk 1km down into the village. As we were running late and it was pouring with rain we decided to head off.
