Padstow is a pretty seaside port, famous for Rick Stein’s restaurants, and many of the local stores were designed to leverage the tourist dollar. Waiting for the ferry for our return trip, we could see an approaching rain storm coming up the estuary, which we narrowly missed but felt extremely sorry for the group of passengers who took our place, as there was no shelter on the boat.

Whoop! Whoop! It's been a long time coming but the day has finally arrived to start our European adventure. Having packed Daisy we had to get her weighed to see how much we then had to take off again.......luckily we were well within our limits so Paul didn't have to offload any wine or beer and Mandy can come too!

Today dawned bright and clear, and it was the first time we'd seen our surroundings in daylight. The Battleaxes is situated on a nearly blind bend in a surprisingly busy country lane, so in order to take a photograph of a phone box clad in vegetation, we had to scamper across the road with alacrity. Mum tried the haddock and I had sea bream, which were both yummy. We then had a walk around the town before heading off for the long drive back to Marston Magna.
