Staying at the Stamford Grand Glenelg never disappoints. Having a room with a view each night overlooking the jetty and the wonderful white sands below is magical. This is a place not to be missed if you come to Adelaide and we make sure we always come here. The staff are friendly and helpful and if there is a problem they make sure you come away feeling good and wanting to return.

Back in South Australia: in Glenelg where the first English settlers arrived in Holdfast Bay 1836 and where as it happens my great uncle Henry Rossiter arrived later in 1859. He was the only member of the Somerset clan to leave England until 1951 when my father Charles Rossiter did the same- but not under the same circumstances and as far as I can …

... the GPS which i had only used once before and that was to get from Kal to Fraser Range. This was serious stuff and i made no less than 5 stops to re set it so it wouldn't keep taking me back to Clare. Two hours later I arrived at my cousins place. It should have taken an hour. But i arrived and also learnt a lot about gps systems.
The Clare region was beautiful too. Mostly farmland and undulating valleys ...

... she couldn't possibly recommend any officially. We drove straight to the best one, which she couldn't possibly recommend, at a winery called Seppeltsfield. This is the oldest winery in the Barossa valley, but has just been extensively renovated. The 5Km drive to it was lined with mature Palm trees (with red and orange fruit) and had vineyards in autumn colours and Lutheran churches along either side of the road. The main courtyard restaurant ...

So I've missed 3 months of travel up dates. Ended in Mauritius on 27 December then was back in UK for 17 nights which was good but very hectic. Flew to Melbourne on 15th January and stayed with fantastic friends where we have spent a weekend in Sydney and I have been shown round Melbourne and treated to many lovely places. Thanks to the Chapmans ...

... to be chosen. So with some crafty mapping skills and well finding the perfect trailer towing family to ask we landed a perfect spot in the middle of the woods all to ourselves... well until the family that pointed us in the right direction joined. It was the perfect start to our glamping days. We set up "camp" also known as parking the beast, making our bed, and pulling out our table and chairs for dinner (and wine of course). Teaching mom the delights of a ...
