      ... go on some rides and call it a day. We were already so tired by around 2. We walked around, looking for one of our friends, and we were not able to find her. It’s impossible to find a face in a crowd of thousands here. We got some chocolate covered strawberries and bananas at the fair, but decided not to go on any rides. The lines were so long. So we walked back to our place and called it a day.

      ... the European word for ****) breakfast, I think it's a pretty straightforward decision. Instead, I got up, got ready, including expertly sliding into my lederhosen (wow I looked good), and hit the street down to meet Nikita. I really should've just taught her how to get to my accommodation; I was literally next door to the Oktoberfest grounds, while getting to her required a 20 minute walk there and a 15 minute one back.       ... with the tent owners & families...Alongside are the amazing bands and endless amounts of people. Plus the all important arrival of the Beer barrels by horse and cart. The beer tapping happens in the L÷wenbrau tent and somehow we managed to get into this crazy place! We watched (well couldn't see much) of the mayor starting the festival by tapping the first barrel...and then the music and chaos began! Of course there was no way ...

      ... Had a sandwich at a local shop with great looking pastries. Took the tram back to our hotel area. Finally checked in and got somewhat organized. Since we only got a few hours sleep on the plane, we went out for an early dinner at a restaurant recommended by Rick Steves (La Vecchia Masseria) not too far from the hotel. It lived up to his kudos. Crashing early.

      ... the buildings and history, but it was information overload. The last part of our visit was the museum which had floor to ceiling boards with information and pictures, but half way through we quickly made our way out because our brains couldn't take any more depressing info and pictures. However it was interesting to see some of the artifacts like their old uniform. After that we made our way back to downtown Munich and got some pretzels (filled with cream cheese ...
