... Very informative they said. It was the local nazi head quarters. Lots of the prisoners were 18 or younger, as these were the resistance fighters.
We all meet at the Joest Museum, which is an ethnologic collection based on Mr Joest's travel acquisitions in the 1800's. The curation of the museum was really well done, with beautiful presentation, and thought provoking observations on religions, nomads, household organizations.

... in Trier. I am anxious to see if I can find the apartment building where I lived when my Dad was stationed there in 1957. I never forgot the address or its general location. Stay tuned.
The weather has been staying mild and promises to stay so for a while longer. We are looking forward to our trip south and back to some of the old haunts (especially the gasthofs). We will photo some of the finer culinary delights.
We pick up the travel blog having said farewell to Patty and Bob in Amsterdam and following a nice walk in Rembrandt Park by the hotel on Monday morning, we were picked up by our dear Dutch friend of 42 years - Puck and Ben Roncken who served in Moose Jaw in the early 70's where Ben was an exchange instructor pilot. They took us to their home in Roermond where we spent a very enjoyable and relaxing day and a half.

Today we visited the fort and caves at Maastricht in Netherlands but as we were passing the Lindt factory seconds shop in Aachen we had to stop and shop. Lot's of chocolates available that we don't see in Australia, we have nearly demolished the block of dark chocolate with pomegranate and chili. And if I meet nice people, is it possible to change my hostel booking and book a hostel with them?
And does anyone know where it is worthwhile to stay? Maybe some good hostel advice?
