    ... do we luckily stumble across a pay phone and call from there. Oma and Iwan arrive within a few minutes. We have a discussion about how we are going to recognise each other but as soon as they pull up we can see Oma waving like crazy, she's obviously better at the recognition game.     ... part, and I joined them on their last day for a 10k walk. Very 'gezellig' and great to spend some time with Dutch kids. Regina is the daughter of John's cousin Erwin, and his wife Mirjam, who we stayed with.

    ... this area has the highest level of unemployment & many young people leave to look for jobs elsewhere. This means that many local businesses have to close. The lack of supermarkets en route, as well as the fact it was Sunday where everything is closed-we had to resort to having broth soup made with a single stock cube and porridge for dinner!!

    All in all we have thoroughly enjoyed our cycle leg through Holland and look forward to new adventures in ...
