... a beautiful old town on the lake. It was tricky to find somewhere to park but we decided to try the chairlift car park in Obertraun. We walked back to Hallstatt, about 40mins, and looked through town. We stopped at the Skull house where they keep old skulls that have been removed from their graves. It was strange but interesting! The milk maids were up at 6am to milk the cows! We joined them at 8.30am for a delicious breaky spread including fruit, muesli and yoghurt + meat, cheese and bread. A great start to the day! Teresa was given the day off, so the three of us went hiking up to Weißeck, a 3hr climb to 2711m. The summit was under cloud but we got some beautiful glimpses of the alps on the hike up. ... It is truly a beautiful place. Plenty of people walking around in traditional Austrian clothing. There is a band playing at the end of the pedestrian mall. The sun is shining and its lovely and warm. I could get used to this little piece of paradise. That is until winter comes.

Sunday is a travel day. 3 trains and 1 bus to get to the next destination which is Bled, Slovenia. I hope i have timed all the connections properly, or i will be in trouble.
