    ... at Gold Dredge 8. On the way in we walked under part of the 800 mile Alaska pipeline. It stretches from Prudhoe Bay in the north all the was to Valdez in the south. It was completed from 1975-1977. It's peak output was 2.1 billion barrels at one point. It's declined ever since and is at 579,000 million barrels a day now. Some wonder just how much oil is left and if it's worth the cost to maintain the pipeline.
