... middle of nowhere. Adam finds his dream lunch of a sloppy dish filled with beans, potatoes and huge smelly sausage. I find mine, blueberry strudel. Life is so good! Apparently every Slovenian lunch must start with a shot of the local Grappa. The ride home was much easier.

Another glorious day weather wise, a high of 28c predicted and the morning sun augurs well. We set off early to walk along the lakeside whilst it is still fairly cool and reach the far end of the lake after a steady 30 minutes. We walk as far as Vila Bled which Tito used as his holiday villa back in the day. It is being readied for a flower festival so we don't visit but sit at a lakeside cafe for a surprisingly good coffee whilst watching the "pletna" boats. ...

... an easy walk although not wheelchair friendly. But the views are stunning, photos do not do it justice, you can see to the bottom of deep pools where perch and trout loiter avoiding the fishermen further downstream. The waterfalls and rills of fast running water are mesmerising and we walk for about an hour then stop for the inevitable coffee and water back at the ticket office before coming back into town ...

... to the hotel for a compulsory Bled Cake, which is basically a custard slice but with very fine flaky pastry and added cream! We explore our immediate surroundings and then return to the hotel to meet up with the Anatolian Sky rep,Mija, who takes us through the things to do round and about.
