Day 4 - Saturday 21st Sept.
Today was a free day for us to explore the historic town of Falmouth. We had numerous options for filling in our day. We chose a ferry trip to St Mawes, where we visited St Mawes Castle, built during the reign of Henry VIII. Another quaint fishing village with more unique galleries & shops.
Home very foot sore & weary.
... an attractive market town & the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake, here we discovered the award winning Pannier Marketplace, just wonderful, could have spent hours there. Also passed the famous Dartmoor prison which is soon to cease operation.
Next stop - Port Isaac (Port Wenn for TV) the location of Doc Martin. Saw the Doc's house, Louise's school & Bert's restaurant.
Last but by no means least on today's itinerary was our lunch at ...
... causing a great deal of stress to many friends, about how quickly my departure time was approaching and how much I had to do still, I slowly, with much procrastination, ploughed through my checklist of tasks! With only an hour sleep last night, my emotions have undoubtedly been all over the place! Never did I realise how difficult saying goodbye would be to family ...
... view of the castle ruins was sufficient. We set off back up the track, my walks around Georgetown have become a memorable doddle after trekking back up to Tintagel village. It was heart attack territory, nice of them to put in the occaisional park seat along the way, they were a blessing. I think we walked off ten Cornish Ppastys on that treck.

From there north skirting the Cornish Atlantic coast to just before Wadebridge and a lovely bar/restaurant for a Sunday carvery Pork Roast.
Found some more single lane roads finding our way into Port Isaac and looking for The Gallery B & B, where we are booked in for tomorrow night!! Got lucky, they had a cancellation so we are here for two nights..
