... see us until tomorrow. We sat in the sun in her garden for a lovely chat and a cuppa. Later we booked into our Hotel, Kings Lodge room 10. Single beds! Well we will have to make the best of that! After unpacking we had a glass of Prosecco in the bar? When will we learn...they cost £8 each! Had a good flight, good landing, fast through passport control, luggage arrived quickly, met with car by Emma's parents, got down to Southampton quickly in time for 9am ferry - it's Cowes week so ferries are very busy - told to wait until 11am! I could take my life in my hands and walk down the grass verge of a busy main road for about a mile until I reached a nice wild park, but that was about it. There were no shops nearby and the roads leading to the nearest supermarket were surprisingly busy and it could take half an hour to drive a mile or so. There was an ancient Abbey near to the ...

... were anything like they are now. Our nice little front desk lady who told us it was about a half hour walk to the displays must not have walked very much. It was well over an hour to make it to the ships. Needless to say, it made us hungry and thirsty so on the way back we had to stop at a pub (Spice Island) we saw on the way to the ships. Go to the bar to serve yourself, and of course start a tab. My beer was Old Speckled ...
