Our house is about a ten minute walk from the Pier. It goes about 300 yards out into the ocean. On the pier one sees lots of tourists and locals, a few homeless people, fishermen, birds and at the very end a Ruby's diner.

... when the center closes (3 times per day), we must clean every surface and toy that has been touched by the children. We are not allowed to bring out the game boards, games, or other activities because they cannot be cleaned properly. If we use playing cards we must throw them away afterwards. Hahaha. 10 am. After getting to the onramp for the I5. I started hitching again. After 15 minutes and many cars going by, a trucker saw me, beeped and pulled over.
