So that is job interview no.1...that afternoon I secure an interview with Telestra which is Australia's no.1 phone provider. On the add it is for telesales and I think that won't be that bad. At least I will be getting a wage! But alas, when I turn up he say I will be going around houses who are not currently with Telestra and try and get them to come to us. This one doesn't seem so bad though because I will get a $300 a week training retainer ...

Arrived in Brisbane in the afternoon, only a short walk across Roma Park to EJ & Sals place, although my bag seems to get heavier, so a short walk never feels so short... So sweet, EJ was looking out the window for me... I'd probably have walked past the place, so good job she was there... They've got a super home. Similar to the American style, open plan, on two levels. Modern but homely, and boy do they love their gadgets... Big screen TV, computers, surround sound, IPads, a tonne ...

... around the tacky austlian souviner shops! We stayed during Brissy Festival which was lucky so there was quite alot on. There was a red bull motorcross party at the lagoon, film and free popcorn on the grass by southbanks, laser show over the city.. lots to do!

We didn't know what to expect of brisbane after reading that it was not worth visiting, we really enjoyed it and would have stayed longer if could of find work!

... Nothing like a bit of overreaction, ay?

We were deemed fit to enter the country, although the grumpiest immigration official in the world did manage to delay us considerably as we tried to remember the exact address we would be spending our first night (having been told by Air New Zealand that if we were staying at multiple addresses it would be OK just to put the name of the state).
