Monday night, our last night in Topeka, there was a thunder storm like no other we've ever been in. The rain was coming down in sheets and the wind was blowing really hard. The motor home was even shaking. The Resort had a storm shelter in the campground and at one point we almost decided to go to it but were afraid we wouldn’t make it in all the wind and rain. I was sure relieved when it finally settled down right at bed time. I can see ...

... we toured the site on the Missouri river where Lewis and Clark stopped going and coming from their expedition. Our final stop was the Glore Psychiatric Museum. Tomorrow is the Arabia Steamboat Museum.

I liked the engraving on the wine barrel at Beachaven. Plus je bois, mieux je chante. (The more I drink, the better I sing.) Since I can't sing at all, a little wine can only help. The drive through St. Louis was picturesque thanks to all the architecture of all the old buildings. Don't bother with the bypass, just drive right through the center of town.

... at 3pm. It was 2:50 when we walked in and asked if it was too late to eat. No one was in the place, but us and the wait staff. They said sure, come on in, so we did. It was a very nice and clean place. After we had ordered, another group of three came and ordered, so we didn't feel so bad. The menu included a couple of choices for salad, five or six entrees to pick from, and five deserts to select from. We both ordered ...
